WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06) released the following statement in response to the House Oversight Committee’s report on the Biden administration’s autopen scandal:

“The findings of the Oversight Committee’s report are deeply troubling; those in President Biden’s inner circle were covering up his cognitive decline and certifying executive actions on his behalf,” said Rep. Palmer. “Not only did they use the autopen to make decisions on his behalf, but they deceived the American people into thinking President Biden was capable of making these decisions on his own. This is a dangerous breach of public trust, and the gravity of the situation demands a thorough investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice.”

Rep. Palmer continued, “Transparency is not a partisan issue. This is about preserving the integrity of the Office of the President and ensuring every executive action is legitimate. I fully support the Oversight Committee’s call to the U.S. Department of Justice to conduct a thorough review on President Biden’s executive actions and for the D.C. Board of Medicine to review the actions of President Biden’s physician.”

Rep. Palmer concluded, “Everyone involved in this scandal must be held accountable. The American people deserve to know who was really making the decisions in the White House.”
