Western Hemisphere Prosperity and Security Alliance

The Western Hemisphere Prosperity and Security Alliance works toward creating stability and security in the region by strengthening diplomatic and trade relationships. Multilateralism is advanced through a soft power framework that connects political, business, and policy leaders from like-minded nations. Building and strengthening these connections will create opportunities to invest in growing markets, strengthen economies, shore-up supply chains, and address national security issues.

The Alliance will provide a platform for members and staff to participate in policy briefings with experts, connect with leaders from these countries, and build momentum for business from America and like-minded countries from other areas in the world to invest and trade with Western Hemisphere nations. Encouraging private investment within these new markets will create lasting prosperity and address growing security concerns due to China and Iran’s presence in the region.

Why is this important?

Energy security is national security, and we must secure our critical minerals and rare earth elements from places other than China. Read the following briefs to better understand the urgent need for a soft power alternative to China:

Initial Policy Goals:

  • Expand economic growth and trade, with a focus on growing Latin America and Canada’s energy infrastructure and near-shoring critical components of America’s energy and critical mineral supply chain.
  • Dismantle transnational organized crime organizations and illegal activities that impact the hemisphere.
  • Identify opportunities to expand fair free trade agreements with countries that share our values of the rule of law and human rights.
  • Full audit of all aid programs to Latin American countries and defund any that push woke policies and programs that harm local economies and social infrastructures.
  • Direct the U.S. State Department to prioritize assisting U.S. companies negotiate rights to key resources in allied Western Hemisphere countries.
  • Support countries that want to dollarize and identify ways to curtail the growing push to de-dollarize.
  • Encourage the new administration to prioritize the staffing and ambassador appointments for Western Hemisphere countries, making sure experienced and respected nominations are ready for Senate confirmation.
  • Identify and connect key drivers of trade and other Western Hemisphere policies within the executive branch to develop a cohesive strategy for the new administration.
