More on Financial Services
Wednesday, November 18 U.S. Representative Gary Palmer (R from Hoover) announced his support for H.R. 1737, the Reforming CFPB Indirect Auto Financing Guidance Act. This bill would revoke the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) 2013 auto lending guidance bulletin, which has hampered the availability of indirect auto loans (loans facilitated by car dealers).
Behind him, multiple screens showed a graph of recent cybersecurity activity. Another showed a global map of ongoing cyberattacks in various parts of the world.
Rep. Gary Palmer toured Regions’ Data Center as a team of the bank’s technology experts explained what banks are doing to protect consumers and to help ensure consistent access to financial services.
“You can have the greatest technology,” said Greg Gagliano, Chief Information Officer at Regions. “But if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t serve people.”
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The United States is no stranger to cybersecurity attacks. Sony Pictures, Target, Apple iCloud, and most recently, Ashley Madison, are only a few American companies that have faced serious cyberattacks. But on Monday Regions’s Operations Center in Hoover was on full display to show Congressman Gary Palmer (R-AL6) how the Alabama-based bank has invested in cybersecurity to help protect consumers’ information.
