For Immediate Release

Birmingham, AL – Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06) is pleased to announce Kenneth Robinson from Mountain Brook High School as the winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District. This contest provides a valuable opportunity for middle and high schoolers to develop their skills in computer coding, math, science, and related subjects by creating an original application. The student’s app is titled “Goalie” and is a customizable productivity app which allows users to improve and maximize their productivity.

“I’m impressed with Kenneth’s creation for the App Challenge,” Congressman Palmer said. “He has created a valuable tool for students that aims to help users maximize and improve their productivity. STEM skills are increasingly important in today’s professional and academic environments, and this app indicates that Kenneth will go far. He should be proud of his hard work.”

Goalie aims to maximize users’ productivity by helping them keep track of different goals and provides users with data and feedback to help improve their productivity, as well. Additionally, Goalie contains a timer and an “Ask AI” tool to assist users with accomplishing their goals.

The winning student received a recognition certificate from Congressman Palmer and will have the chance to present his app during a coding fair in Spring 2024.
