Palmer Calls Out NPR's Bias

May 8, 2024

Washington, D.C. – After today’s House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations hearing titled “Examining Accusations of Ideological Bias at NPR, a Taxpayer Funded News Entity,” Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06) made the following statement:

“Today’s hearing served to show that National Public Radio (NPR) is highly partisan and heavily planted toward left-wing ideology,” said Rep. Palmer. “The old saying of ‘he who pays the piper calls the tune’ rings true with NPR, because as I pointed out in the hearing, the content of NPR is driven by its revenue sources. The same people funding NPR are the same ones supporting Democrat candidates and funding Pro-Palestine protests on our college campuses. As a result, NPR has turned into a propaganda machine supporting the political agenda of left-wing billionaires and Democrat politicians.”

Rep. Palmer concluded, “I commend Chairman Griffith on holding this hearing and look forward to having more in the future. We must continue to hold NPR accountable.”
