Palmer Commends Senator Scott's Response to President Biden's Divisive Rhetoric

Washington, D.C. – Last night, President Biden delivered his first address to a joint session of Congress since taking office in January. This week also marks the 100-day milestone since he assumed office. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) delivered the Republican response to the address. Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06) released the following statement:

"The contrast between President Biden's speech and Senator Scott's response to it could not be greater. One exploits the wounds of the nation, while the other attempted healing and unity. The Biden and Democrat future is a future of fear and division that undermine America's self-assurance and optimism. On the other hand, Senator Scott cast a vision of real hope and of confidence in us – the American people – because he emphasized that the future is in our hands. Government can never give us the healing we need or the peace we want. Senator Scott has lived this, just like millions of other Americans have lived it. He reminded us tonight that we are a resilient nation and that regardless of our backgrounds, we can rise together to meet our challenges."
