BIRMINGHAM, AL – Representative Gary Palmer (AL-06) presented the Patriot Pipeline Scholarship for Marion Military Institute (MMI) to John Hammac of Shelby County. MMI is the nation’s oldest Military Junior College and one of only four authorized to host the Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program (ECP). The scholarship provides tuition and fees for the two-year program. After completing MMI, cadets commission as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve, or Army National Guard.
“John’s decision to serve his country speaks to the strength of character and commitment we’re proud to see in students in Alabama’s Sixth District,” said Rep. Palmer. “Programs like these are critical to developing the next generation of military leaders, and I have no doubt John will represent our state well and serve our nation with honor.”
Rep. Palmer is proud of the young men and women from the Sixth Congressional District who, like John, want to serve their nation through military service.
