Palmer To Serve on Energy and Commerce Committee for 117th Congress

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06) has been selected to serve on the Energy and Commerce Committee for the 117th Congress. This committee is the longest standing legislative committee in the House of Representatives, and it has jurisdiction over a broad range of areas, including energy, telecommunications, interstate and foreign commerce, food and drug safety, public health, and environmental policy, among others. Palmer released the following statement:

"I am looking forward to representing Alabama and working on sensible policy solutions as a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee this Congress," Palmer said. "Great progress has been made to the U.S. economy over the last four years, especially in the area of regulatory reform. I'm eager to put my policy experience to work in defending and continuing that progress. I am also honored to bring representation from Alabama to this committee for the first time in more than thirty years. Our state excels in energy production and scientific and healthcare research that all justify representation on this committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues in these areas and more, and to bringing Alabama's unique strengths to the Energy and Commerce Committee."
