Palmer Stands for Increased Access to Federal Building Proposals

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Gary Palmer's (AL-06) Transparency in Federal Buildings Projects Act, H.R. 2502, passed the House of Representatives today. This legislation would bring more transparency and public access to federal building and construction proposals. It would require the General Services Administration (GSA) to make available on its website all financial disclosure documents related to federal building, construction, and leasing projects.

"Posting GSA proposals on a searchable, public website will increase transparency and offer easy access to public and private sector stakeholders," Palmer said. "This is a common sense reform that will make federal agency activity more visible to the public. I appreciate the work of my colleagues on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, especially Ranking Members Graves and Meadows, in advancing this legislation."

Today, the Transparency in Federal Buildings Act passed the House of Representatives by voice vote.
