Palmer Supports Funding for National Computer Forensics Institute

Washington, D.C. – H.J. Res. 31, the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which recently passed and was signed by the President, included $25 million for the National Criminal Forensics Institute (NCFI) in Hoover, AL. These funds were requested by Congressman Gary Palmer (R-AL), who released the following statement:

"The NCFI is a state of the art institution that trains law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges from around the nation and I'm proud to support their mission," Palmer said. "This funding recognizes their vital role in cyber-crime detection and the success of their training programs."

The NCFI opened in 2008 and works to train state and local officials in protecting Americans from cyber-crime. It is operated by the United States Secret Service and the Alabama District Attorneys Association. Training courses are offered to state and local law enforcement, prosecutors, and judges.
