In Washington, House Republicans are working to defund Planned Parenthood. The house passed a bill this-morning that freezes funding to Planned Parenthood for one year. If it clears the senate, the White House already said the president would veto it.

All six Republican members of Alabama's House delegation voted in favor Friday of two anti-abortion bills, including a one-year moratorium on funding to Planned Parenthood. The other bill, called the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, would make it a crime to not take a "born alive" fetus to a hospital and would make an individual who commits an "overt act" to kill a born alive child subject to murder charges.

Gary Palmer (R-AL), voted today for H.R. 3134 the Defund Planned Parenthood Act, which would create a moratorium on any funding for Planned Parenthood, as well as H.R. 3504, the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which provides greater protection for infants that survive the abortion procedure.

For Immediate Release Washington D.C. – Congressman Gary Palmer (R-AL), a member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, participated in a joint hearing between the Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Natural Resources Committee on the Animas River spill, an environmental spill of contaminated mine water that was created by contractors working on the behest of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy testified at this hearing.
