Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Ala.) tweeted a photo Tuesday of him with "the two sexiest fat men in radio." Thankfully, that honor was bestowed by the men themselves and not something a member of Congress just made up and decided to call them. Rick Burgess and Bill "Bubba" Bussey are the hosts of the "Rick and Bubba Show" and the authors of several books including "Rick & Bubba for President: The Two Sexiest Fat Men Alive Take On Washington." They've praised Palmer in the past. Last year, on their show, they said Palmer wouldn't be liked in Washington because he would "rattle some things and make some noise and make some change."

U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer visited Chilton County on May 5, speaking at the Chamber of Commerce luncheon and touring local schools.

Palmer was introduced at the luncheon by Kevin Corley, pastor at Grace Fellowship church in Clanton who is family friends with Palmer.

Palmer talked about the number of committees he's a part of, and some of the main points of his platform.

"We have to get our fiscal house in order," Palmer said about the country's financial situation.

WASHINGTON — Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) circulated a "critical alert" earlier this week warning his colleagues that a recent bill giving President Obama special authority to negotiate a massive trade deal would ceed too much power to the executive branch and threaten the US economy. Under the agreement, Congress would not be able to amend what President Obama has called "the most progressive trade deal in history."

WASHINGTON — Congressman Gary Palmer (R-AL6) is pleading with the Supreme Court to follow its own precedent when deciding whether or not states should be required to recognize and perform same-sex marriages. “I believe that marriage is correctly defined as being between one man and one woman,” Palmer wrote in a press release this week. “This definition is rooted both in sacred truths and in history. I believe the Supreme Court wrongly decided the Windsor case holding that the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was unconstitutional.

Students from Pelham and Hueytown high schools earned top honors at the 6th District Congressional Art Competition reception hosted by U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer on Monday. Pelham High School junior Aaron Squires earned the top prize in the contest for his artwork titled "I Am Free Now." For winning the contest, Squires has the opportunity to hang his work in the Capitol for a year and present his winning piece at an awards reception in the Washington, D.C., building.

Each spring, high school students from across the state submit their artwork to the Annual Congressional Art Competition for the opportunity to represent their Congressional District in our nation's Capital with their artistic talents. Sponsored by the Congressional Institute to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district, more than 650,000 high school students have participated since its inaugural year in 1982.

Thursday, April 30, the US House of Representatives passed the 2016 budget resolution 226 to 197. US Representative Gary Palmer, a member of the House Budget Committee, voted for the budget resolution that resulted from the House/Senate Budget conference.

For Immediate Release Washington, D.C. - Congressman Gary Palmer, a member of the Science, Space and Technology Committee, supported the NASA Authorization Act for 2016 and 2017 which authorizes the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) for an additional two years. The bill was marked up in committee today and passed by a vote of 19-15.
