I appreciate you taking the time to read my newsletter. It's been a busy week up in D.C. from meeting with people from our district to committee hearings to the sit-in staged on the House floor. The Supreme Court also released their decision on United States v. Texas putting the power back in the hands of the American people, not President Obama's. Their 4-4 tied decision thwarts the President’s attempt to unconstitutionally overrule current immigration laws. Laws are made by the people through their elected representative, not through executive action.

Dear Friend,

Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. This past weekend we thanked and remembered the brave men and women of the Armed Forces for their service and sacrifice. The Sixth District of Alabama has not been untouched by the perils of war. We have lost neighbors, friends and loved ones in defense of America's freedom. Below I remember the life of one of our communities own, Marine Lance Corporal Thomas Rivers, Jr.

Thanks for reading,
Gary Palmer
