"A popular government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy; or, perhaps both. Knowledge will forever govern ignorance: and a people who mean to be their own governors, must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives." --James Madison

From my perspective, Democrats have sought to be merely a "popular government" since they took control of the House of Representatives. They spout popular talking points, such as a need for a "livable wage" and the supposed compassion of an open-border policy. These ideas are cleverly worded and presented with emotional appeal, but I urge everyone to seek information and knowledge before believing merely popular talking points, because many of them are unsupported by economic realities and the real desires of the American people.

For example, House Democrats recently passed a bill to gradually raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour, with no regard to the loss of 3.7 million jobs this would cause. They have also expressed support for free healthcare and taxpayer funded abortions for illegal immigrants. In reality, if these ideas were enacted into law, they would strain the American economy, cause job loss, encourage more crime, and increase the humanitarian crisis at the border. As Madison said, we must "arm ourselves with the power knowledge gives" and fight against these radical, far-left ideas that harm our country.
