Update on August District Work Period

Newsletters

When I first ran for Congress, I made a commitment that I would not be an absentee representative. I was determined not to move to Washington, D.C. and subsequently leave behind my district and the state of Alabama. To make good on that commitment, I come home every week, and during Congress's recess periods, I go out into the district to meet the people I am proud to represent. I love being home in the district and meeting people in their work places, at festivals, or when I am at the grocery store, sporting goods store, building supply store, or having barbeque (it should be noted I have yet to find a good BBQ place in Washington). Whenever I am out in the district, I am always happy to meet people and talk with them.

The following will hopefully be a helpful update on activities from the past several weeks in the Sixth District.
