August 10, 2017

We have reached the mid-point of 2017. In the first six months we saw the House pass over 170 bills including two of the most important bills in a decade. The American Health Care Act is the House bill that takes the first step toward repealing Obamacare and beginning the process of repairing our broken healthcare system.

The August work period is upon us and I am happy to be back home meeting with constituents all across the Sixth District. I am hosting two town halls next week in Calera and Hueytown, and I would like to invite you to join in on the conversation at one of them.

Dear Friend,

Some may call our district work periods “recess” or a “vacation”, but they are anything but that. Instead they are a great opportunity for me to connect with the great people of Alabama’s Sixth District and see all of the good happening in our own backyards!

Dear Friend,

The 115th Congress is off to a fast start, and I’m hopeful we can deliver on our promises to limit the size and scope of government.

Dear Friend,

October 6, 2016

As October begins, I am looking forward to spending the entire month back in Alabama's Sixth District. I will be hosting Town Hall's throughout the month across the district. These events are important to me because they are a great opportunity for us to have open dialogue about the issues we all face. I look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming Town Halls.

I appreciate you taking the time to read my newsletter. It's been a busy week up in D.C. from meeting with people from our district to committee hearings to the sit-in staged on the House floor. The Supreme Court also released their decision on United States v. Texas putting the power back in the hands of the American people, not President Obama's.

Dear Friend,

It's Time To Stop the EPA's Overreach Today, the Environmental Protection Agency is one of the most powerful and most feared regulatory agencies in the country. What was originally intended to be an agency with a relatively modest charter has become much more powerful. The EPA is now claiming unrestrained authority to issue regulations that have major negative consequences for the American economy with little or no accountability to Congress.

The EPA is out of control. Because of this, I have introduced The Stopping EPA Overreach Act of 2015. This bill would remove the ability of the EPA to regulate so-called “greenhouse gasses,” an authority the EPA assumed after Massachusetts v. EPA, a controversial 5-4 Supreme Court decision handed down in 2007 which interpreted the Clean Air Act to allow regulations of common and necessary compounds that were not contemplated when the act was originally passed.
